A significant percentage of money clips can be engraved. Since money clips are not that large, it is common to find initials engraved on money clips. Depending on the size of the clip and how much of the clip is metal it becomes possible to engrave up to a few lines. Since the price of a money clip with engraving is very reasonable, you find money clips given as corporate and personal gifts as much as if not more than a direct purchase by the money clip holder. When platinum and titanium are engraved the engraving is not very deep because the metal is so strong and could wear off after the first 60 or so years. Softer metals have the tendency to show more wear and tear but the engraving goes a bit deeper so may last longer.
